Initially, high quality cotton and silk yarns are selected and dyed in various colors to suit the requirements of the saree. The next process is Warping where the dyed yarns are wound on to a warping reel to create the warp threads of the saree. Further, the yarns are treated with a sizing material to strengthen them. The warp threads are then carefully arranged on a traditional pit loom. The weaving process begins with the insertion of the weft threads through the warp threads. The weft threads are woven over and under alternate warp threads to create a grid-like pattern. After each weft thread is inserted, it is beaten down with comb-like tool to pack the threads firmly together and create a uniform fabric. The ‘khat’ pattern is repeated across the entire length of the saree. After the completion of the weaving process, the saree is removed from the loom and undergoes finishing process such as washing and pressing to ensure fine texture and form.</span><br></div><div style="font-size:15px;"><br></div><div style="color:inherit;font-size:15px;">Overall, Kota Doria sarees symbolize the blend of fine craftsmanship and grace. <div style="color:inherit;text-align:justify;"><br></div><div style="color:inherit;text-align:justify;"><span style="font-weight:bold;">The Origin:</span></div>
<div style="color:inherit;text-align:justify;">&nbsp;The Maheshwari Saree is believed to have been designed and developed by the legendary queen, Maa Ahilya Bai Holkar in the 18th century when they were first designed for her royal guests. According to legends, Queen Ahilyabai invited weavers from Surat and Mandu in Gujarat to prepare turban fabric and nine-yard saris that could serve as royal gifts and be worn by the ladies of the Malwa court. The sarees that were produced by these craftsmen became popular as Maheshwari sarees.&nbsp;</div>
<div style="color:inherit;text-align:justify;"><br></div><div style="color:inherit;text-align:justify;"><span style="font-weight:bold;">The Legacy:</span></div>
