Dry clean for the first wash. For subsequent washes, if dry cleaning is not possible, you may consider hand wash. Soak the saree in warm water adding some rock salt, and rest for 15 minutes. Further, gently hand wash in cold water with soap nut or baby shampoo. Expect slight color bleeding during the initial 2-3 washes. This is due to traditional dyeing process employed. Do not worry, this won’t fade the saree color. Color bleeding happens because it loses extra color that is picked up during the dyeing process.
